What I have Learnt Recently
Hey Friends,
Over the last few days, I and my old friends initiated a new idea. Before we thought of that, we were always wasting time talking about our pasts and things that basically don’t add value to us. Suddenly, we realized that we were wasting a bunch of time.
So we decided to create a book club(Dudes Book Club) where we send books to read and every four days, we have a voice call session and talk about what we have read so far and how is related to our daily life. This is a perfect way of being productive with your friends and would be a terrific benefit.
Another advantage is, that you easily remember things with your friends than reading alone. It’s possible it might not be a book club but basically something that adds value to your life and makes you more productive.
A few days ago, I was on X(formerly known as Twitter), Should I say I was scrolling mindfully or not 😂. I came across someone known as Tiago Forte talking about the PARA method. Tiago Forte is the founder of Forte Labs and one of the foremost productivity experts who has taught thousands of people worldwide how to revolutionize their productivity, creativity, and personal effectiveness. He has also written books(Building a Second Brain & The PARA Method).
Basically, the PARA Method is a simple system of organizing our digital lives which is basically divided into four different parts which are PROJECT, AREA, RESOURCE & ARCHIVE. These are basically the four categories that encompass all the information in our lives. Under them are subfiles that contain each activity, we may be thinking they are just four, but if they are much, they become difficult to maintain like he said which I totally agree with. When watching Behind The Diary which basically covers everything Steven Bartlett does behind the scenes, he employed a 21-year-old who dropped out of university. Was thinking if it was a good decision for him to leave school just to be recording behind the scenes for Steven Bartlett. Steven made me know that when we are young, we have five buckets to fill which are KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, NETWORK, RESOURCES & REPUTATION.
What I learned is that no matter the circumstance, the first two can never be taken away from you which is why we should be trying to fill at a young age. Also, there are two decisions that we have(DECISION 1 & DECISION 2). When we enter the DECISION 1 door, there is no turning back, but for DECISION 2, we can still turn back which should not be late. So as for the 21-year-old, he dropped out of school to fill his SKILL and KNOWLEDGE and then can make use of DECISION 2 to go back to school and learn. Just thought of sharing this stuff for this week’s email.
Have a great week!
